I love the idea that that the original flag represented ‘ a new constellation’ and thought I couldn’t think of a better way to commemorate the creation of our country to celebrate 'life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness”. As I pondered the idea of America’s 250th birthday, I thought about how I could commemorate it, so I decided to create two new flag paintings, available as limited edition prints, to join the original two that have been so popular.
This is a commemorative print., with the year painted directly onto the canvas, reminding us of this important milestone.
PS All of my flags are inspired by the flag that flies over the water at the Woodway Beach Club, one of my favorite views in all of Shippan.
